Pilgrimage to Lourdes in Litchfield

The Connecticut councils of the Legion of Mary are sponsoring a pilgrimage to Lourdes in Litchfield on September 7, 2019.  A bus will leave the Church of the Assumption at 7:30am and return around 5:30pm.  The cost for the bus is $20.00 per person.  The day will include a Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (if a priest is available) and a Marian talk in the afternoon followed by the Stations of the Cross concluding with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Lent

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and of abstinence.

All Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence.
Fasting means to refrain from eating food between meals and to eat only one full meal with the other two being lighter meals.  It is required of those who are 18 to 59 on the days noted above.  Liquids are permitted between meals.

Abstinence means to refrain from eating meat.  It is required of those 14 years of age and older on the days listed above. Talk with a priest if you have any question about whether these laws pertain to you.
